
Ryan Henry
Ryan won multiple Australian national singles and doubles titles as a junior and was a key member of Australian team that won the 16/U world junior championships held in Japan. By the age of 18, he had achieved rankings of World No. 1 in U/18 Doubles, World No. 16 in U/18 Singles, 271 in ATP Doubles and 424 in ATP Singles and competed in the Australian Open Mens Singles and Doubles main draw. Ryan retired early from the game at age 19 due to repetitive injuries and has since focused on developing a career as a tennis professional.

Ryan is responsible for the overall management and development of Voyager Tennis and is passionate about helping tennis thrive at all levels from grass roots right the way through to the professional level.

The Company
Voyager is a multi-award-winning Tennis Academy and believes in tennis as a powerful, life-enhancing voyage that helps an individual become the best person they can be.
Our programs start with the 3–5 year old age group and follow a well-established pathway through to students achieving U.S. college tennis scholarships and playing on the professional circuit thereafter.
We operate tennis facilities in Sydney, Gosford, Melbourne, Brisbane, Northern NSW and Singapore, and coach around 5,000 players each week of all ages and abilities, including more than 200 nationally ranked players.
Tennis professionals have the opportunity to progress their careers, as we provide a pathway from Tennis Coach to High Performance Coach, Assistant Head Tennis Professional, Head Tennis Professional and management roles.
The Position – Role & Responsibilities
- Deliver high-quality junior, adult and performance tennis coaching programs aligned with structured lesson plans.
- Lead and coordinate holiday camps, competitions and tournaments to ensure a great player experience.
- Create a fun, welcoming and professional on-court environment for players of all ages and abilities.
- Manage and maximise coach schedules and court utilisation to drive participation and revenue.
- Maintain strong client communication, including feedback, program updates and retention initiatives.
- Support sales and growth of programs through upselling lessons, camps and competitions.
- Ensure high standards of organisation and administration, including attendance tracking, reporting and equipment management.
- Assist with team leadership and development, including mentoring coaches and maintaining strong on-court standards.
Job Experience & Qualifications
- Proven 3–5 years of experience leading a team and running a successful tennis venue.
- Strong work ethic and willingness to work the hours required to ensure success at a Voyager venue.
- A love of tennis and racquet sports, with a passion for helping others achieve success.
- Strong leadership qualities, organisational skills and administration skills.
- A team player, an authentic leader, and someone who works well with others while executing the role to a high level.
- Ability to work autonomously, with the dedication and drive to be proactive in the daily management of a tennis venue.
- Current Working with Children Check, Police Check and Tennis Australia Membership required. First Aid certification is desirable.
Hours / Remuneration
Hours will be predominantly Monday to Friday, with one full day required each weekend (either Saturday or Sunday).
Remuneration will be between $85,000 – $95,000 + superannuation per year.
