The Pickleball Cup Northern Beaches made its debut on the Northern Beaches and it absolutely delivered. Over the weekend of Saturday 30 and Sunday 31 May 2026, Voyager Tennis Seaforth (Wakehurst) on Upper Clontarf Street buzzed with competition, energy, and the kind of community spirit that makes pickleball so special. With 283 registered players, this was a landmark first edition for the region.
From the opening women’s doubles rallies on Saturday afternoon through to the final medal matches of the mixed doubles on Sunday, the courts were alive with high-level play, big dinks, and even bigger moments. Players travelled from across the Northern Beaches and beyond to take part in what is fast becoming one of the most anticipated stops on the Pickleball Cup circuit.
Tournament Format
The tournament was structured across three categories; Women’s Doubles, Men’s Doubles, and Mixed Doubles. Each split by DUPR skill level to ensure competitive, evenly matched games at every level. Saturday kicked off with Women’s Doubles divisions from midday, followed by Men’s Doubles from 4:00 PM. Sunday opened with the Mixed Doubles DUPR 2.99 & Under and DUPR 4.0+ brackets from 9:00 AM, with the DUPR 3.0 – 3.49 and DUPR 3.5 – 3.99 mixed divisions getting underway from 1:00 PM.
All players were guaranteed a minimum of three games per event. The round robin stage progressed to semi-finals and medal matches, each played to 15 points win by 2. Play was governed by the Global Pickleball Federation Rulebook 2025, and medals plus HUSTL Accessories were on the line for gold and silver finishers in every bracket.

A Historic First for the Northern Beaches
What made this weekend particularly special was that it marked the very first time the Pickleball Cup has been hosted on the Northern Beaches. The community showed up in force with 283 players locked in their registrations, making this one of the strongest field sizes in the Pickleball Cup series.
The venue at Voyager Tennis Seaforth (Wakehurst) proved a fantastic host, with its courts on Upper Clontarf Street providing a brilliant setting for two full days of action. Spectators, supporters, and volunteers all played their part in creating an atmosphere that felt truly like a community celebration of the sport.
The sportsmanship throughout both days was outstanding. Whether players were competing in the entry-level 2.99 & Under brackets or going head-to-head in the top-tier 4.0+ divisions, every match was played with intensity and respect, exactly what the Pickleball Cup is all about.
Thank you to everyone who took part in the Pickleball Cup Northern Beaches. We look forward to more exciting tournaments and more opportunities to bring the community together.
