Celebrating Evan’s Life: Tennis Fundraiser Event

Voyager Tennis is thrilled to share the heartwarming success of our recent tennis fundraiser at Willis Park. The event, held on 12th November, was a joyful celebration of community spirit, tennis, and a heartfelt tribute to our late friend, Evan O’Neil, the former professional tennis player who battled brain cancer.

Special Events:

• Pro Am Tennis Tournament: A unique Pro-Am event allowed participants to play alongside current or former professional players in teams of six.
• Tie Break Shootout: Tennis enthusiasts had the opportunity to test their skills in an exhilarating tie-break shootout.
• Evan O’Neil Fundraiser Raffle: Players, friends and the community enjoyed fabulous prizes, including a 60-inch 4K UHD Android TV by Sharp, signed memorabilia, vouchers, and more.
• Online Auction: Exclusive tennis experiences, including an AO Rockpool Experience and United Cup hospitality, were up for bidding.

The Cause and Personal Tribute:

On June 19, 2023, we lost Evan O’Neil, who bravely battled brain cancer until the age of 39. He leaves behind his beloved wife, Peta, and their three cherished children: Andy, Charlie, and Josie. Evan was an exceptional individual known for his kindness, compassion, loyalty, and hard work, always brightening lives with his infectious smile and cheerful spirit.

As a passionate tennis player with seven years on the ATP tour, he dedicated himself to the sport and inspired many through his love for the game.
