Adelaide Regional Pickleball Championships is Coming to Playford

Adelaide pickleball players have three big dates to add to the calendar.

The Adelaide Regional Pickleball Championships will take place from 23–25 October 2026 at Voyager Tennis – Playford, bringing Singles, Gender Doubles and Mixed Doubles together for a full weekend of competition.

The championships are a Pickleball Australia Tier 1 sanctioned tournament, giving local and visiting players another opportunity to put their game into a competitive setting. Players can choose the format that suits them or enter across multiple days for a bigger tournament weekend.

Friday belongs to the singles players. Gender Doubles takes over on Saturday, before Mixed Doubles closes the championships on Sunday.

Whether you’re coming with a regular doubles partner, stepping onto the singles court or planning to play all weekend, October is shaping up to be a busy one at Playford.

Three Days, Three Ways to Compete

Each format brings a different challenge.

Singles leaves players responsible for the entire court. Movement, consistency and the ability to construct points all come under pressure when there is no partner alongside you.

In Gender Doubles, individual shot-making still matters, but so does the partnership. Teams need to communicate, cover the court together and recognise when one player should take control of a rally.

Then comes Mixed Doubles, where players have another opportunity to test their teamwork and tactical understanding with a different partner and field of opponents.

The schedule gives competitors the flexibility to enter the events that interest them rather than committing to the entire weekend.

More Than One Match to Settle In

Tournament nerves are real, particularly in the opening game. The good news is that one difficult start doesn’t necessarily mean the day is over.

Competition begins with round-robin play, and players are guaranteed at least three games per event. The leading competitors then progress into the knockout stages, where the field is gradually narrowed down to the medal matches.

Gold, Silver and Bronze medals will be awarded across the tournament brackets.

For players still building their competition experience, the format provides several opportunities to play against different opponents. For experienced competitors, those early matches offer a chance to find their rhythm before the knockout rounds begin.
