The AO 1 Point Slam is Coming to Voyager Tennis

Every great tennis story starts with a single point. This year, Voyager Tennis is giving players across Australia the chance to write theirs, by hosting official AO 1 Point Slam Community Events at venues in New South Wales, Victoria, Queensland and South Australia.

What Is the AO 1 Point Slam?

The AO 1 Point Slam is Tennis Australia’s national grassroots competition, built on the simplest idea in the sport: win the point, win the match. Every match is decided by a single point – no long rallies, no best-of-three sets, just one serve, one return, one shot at glory.

It’s fast, it’s fun, and it’s open to players of all standards. Whether you’re a weekend hitter or a competitive junior, everyone lines up on the same court with the same chance to advance.

Why It Matters

This isn’t just a fun club day. The AO 1 Point Slam is a genuine pathway:

  • Community Events (like the ones Voyager Tennis is hosting) run locally at clubs across the country.
  • Winners progress to their State and Territory Championships in December.
  • From there, the best amateurs in the country could earn a place at AO27, competing for a prize of $1,000,000.

Host clubs benefit too. The venue behind the eventual national winner receives a $50,000 grant, while each State Champion’s home club receives $5,000, to be reinvested into facilities, equipment or coaching programs.

Keep an eye out. We will update the list once the locations and registrations are confirmed.

How the Format Works

Voyager Tennis events follow the official AO 1 Point Slam rules:

  • Straight knockout draws, with a minimum of 8 players per draw
  • Players choose Mixed (Men’s & Women’s) or Women’s draws
  • Every player gets two serves per point (one, if a former ATP/WTA professional enters)
  • A coin toss or rock-paper-scissors decides who serves first
  • Each 32-player draw takes around 45 minutes, so even a big day moves quickly

Voyager Tennis Is Going National

Voyager Tennis is proud to host AO 1 Point Slam Community Events at seven venues across three states, bringing this once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to communities in Sydney’s north and south, the Central Coast, regional NSW, Melbourne, Brisbane and Adelaide.

Every event below follows the same format: a single-elimination, one-point-per-match draw, open to Mixed (Men’s & Women’s) or Women’s entries. All seven events run on Saturday 24 October 2026, with registrations closing Wednesday 21 October 2026.

Why Enter a Voyager Tennis Event?

Voyager Tennis coaches run every event to official Tennis Australia standards, using UTR Sports software to manage entries and draws so the day runs smoothly from first serve to final point. Win your local draw, and you advance to represent your club at your State Championships in December, with a shot at AO27 and the $1,000,000 prize on the line.
