School Holiday Tennis Camps Are Here

School is out, the racquets are ready and another round of Voyager Tennis School Holiday Camps is getting underway.
For kids, the next few weeks mean a welcome break from classrooms, homework and the usual weekday routine. For parents, they also bring the familiar challenge of finding activities that keep children active, entertained and away from screens for at least part of the day.
That’s where a few days on the tennis court can fit nicely into the holiday calendar.
Voyager’s School Holiday Tennis Camps are kicking off across multiple locations, giving children the chance to play, learn and spend time with other young players during the break.
School’s Out. Time to Get on Court.
Holiday tennis has a different feel from regular weekly coaching.
There’s more time to settle into the court, play different games and put skills into practice. Children can spend their sessions working on their tennis while still enjoying the relaxed atmosphere that school holidays should have.
Depending on their age and playing level, activities can include tennis coaching, skill development and match play. The aim is to keep children involved rather than spending long periods waiting on the sidelines.
And because players are grouped appropriately, children don’t need years of tennis experience before joining in.
Beginners Are Welcome
A school holiday camp can be a great introduction to tennis for children who haven’t played before.
There’s no expectation that a beginner will arrive knowing how to serve, keep score or sustain a rally. Their first experience might simply involve learning how to hold the racquet, make contact with the ball and move around the court.
From there, coaches can introduce new skills as children become more comfortable.
The holiday setting also gives beginners an opportunity to experience tennis alongside other kids. They can learn through coaching, but there’s still plenty of room to play and enjoy themselves along the way.
For some children, a few days at camp may be all it takes to discover a sport they’d like to continue once school returns.
More Court Time for Kids Who Already Play
For regular tennis players, school holidays offer something they don’t always get during the term: extra time on court.
Instead of waiting a week between lessons, players can spend more time hitting, practising and playing points over the holiday period.
That can be useful for a child working on a particular shot or simply wanting to keep their game moving while their normal school routine is on pause.
They may also get to play against children outside their usual coaching group. Different opponents create different rallies, and that variety can make a holiday camp feel quite different from a regular lesson.
A Chance to Play With Other Kids
Tennis may bring children to the camp, but the experience isn’t limited to forehands and serves.
Holiday programs bring together young players who may attend different schools, live in different areas or normally train at different times.
Games and match play naturally give children reasons to interact. They have partners to communicate with, opponents to play and other kids sharing the same experience.
There’s no guarantee they’ll leave with a new best friend, and there doesn’t need to be. Simply spending part of the holidays around other children while doing something active can make the day worthwhile.
Give the Screens a Break
Screens are going to be part of most school holidays, and there’s nothing wrong with children enjoying some downtime.
But a few hours on court provides a useful change of pace.
Instead of sitting inside wondering what to do next, kids are moving, hitting balls and concentrating on whatever is happening in front of them.
Parents don’t need to fill every day of the holidays with organised activities either. A tennis camp can simply become one part of the break, alongside family days, quiet afternoons at home and whatever else the holidays bring.
There’s Still Time to Join the Holiday Action
If you haven’t organised every day of the school holidays yet, that’s completely fine.
Voyager Tennis School Holiday Camps are now getting underway, with programs available across multiple locations and for different playing abilities.
The important part is finding a camp that suits your child and your family’s holiday schedule. Places may be limited, so checking availability early is worthwhile if you already know which days you need.
Whether your child is trying tennis for the first time or can’t wait to spend a few extra days with a racquet in hand, the courts are ready.
